Round One - Keating

Erik Keating was the only sim to get a house to himself. The others expected a lot from him and he would need space to work on all of his inventions. He also needed a place to store all the items the collected from around the island. Which was a surprising amount, given that this place was seemingly void of other sim life. In no time at all he had several large piles of scrap metals and other bits and pieces he was hoping to eventually turn into things that were useful. Many of the things they found were washed up on the beach from the numerous shipwrecks in Desolation Sound.



Its a little lonely living by oneself, but Erik spends all his time thinking about what his next move is going to be.



All of his time not consumed by Ruby that is.






Though she often proved to be more of an unwanted distraction at times. After many explicit words, Erik finally managed to get the fire out with no harm done.




Well... the food was a little crispier than usual.



It took an awful lot of soap to get the smoke smell off his skin and out of his hair.





One of Erik's big accomplishments since arriving on the big island was the water wheel he crafted out of some scrounged wood. The only problem is he couldn't get it to turn without some kind of torch to attach the gear mechanism.



"Hey Pearl, good to see you!"
"Hi Erik. I thought I'd drop by and see how things are going. Oh and I have something for you too."



"Right on! This torch is just what I need. Now I just need to see if I can get it to work."
"Well, I'll leave you to it. Good luck!"



Erik didn't make it very far when Ruby showed up again. Her visits were becoming more and more regular. She claimed to be visiting under the pretense of sizing him up for a new sewing project she was working on.





She said it would be easier to do so if he was naked. Yeah... he fell for it.



Work was becoming more and more difficult with other things on his mind. He was worried he would never get his inventions working at this rate.



It didn't help that Natalya was always popping by to check up on him on behalf of Zayne.



Liv wandered by once in awhile too and Erik took great offence to this. He knew she needed a sun lamp, but he didn't even have electricity running. Why couldn't she just give him some space?




He was starting to get along pretty well with Natalya. She had been visiting so much lately. He even used her as an outlet to get the stuff with Liv off his chest. She humored him and listened to his plight and for that he was grateful.





He even invited her in for some fresh coconut and papaya soup.



Then it was back to the drawing board.



That water wheel was making him crazy.





The fish in the pond was delicious though.




Work was really starting to get to him. He wasn't sure he was even the right person for this job. Sure, he had the best work ethic, but he didn't know the first thing about what was expected of him.



His biggest accomplishment to date is painting a face on an old brick.



Erik knew about the wolf wandering around their settlement, but from what Ruby had said it was a vicious creature that almost attacked her in broad daylight.



Oddly enough it seemed to take a liking to Erik and even fetched a stick a few times.





"Hi Erik, how is it going with the water wheel?"



"Lets forget about the water wheel and talk about why you really keep coming by."



"Woah. I don't know how you jumped to that conclusion. I know we're becoming friends, but I'm married. I'm not interested in sleeping with you."



"Geez, do you need to be that blunt? Look, I'm sorry. I'll let you know when I've made any progress."





Needless to say, progress was seeming more and more unattainable each day.



He still had some ideas up his sleeve though.



That night his dreams were plagued by blue bunnies. At least he thinks it was just a dream...

He has his moments, but he is so busy he just doesn't always have time to chat up the sims that walk by. Things should improve for him next round.

*lol* Dreams of Blue Bunnies! And oh, making a move on Natalya isn't his best moment. Not classy, dude. Not classy.

Hard to explain away that social bunny in a sort of story telling play. I can't help but think of Donnie Darko whenever they pop up.

Being a romance sim on an island with so few sims has been really hard on Erik & Ruby. They may as well be in a committed relationship for as often as they see each other. He got lonely and desperate... lets just hope Zayne never finds out about it! They might not survive without their handy man.

The bunnies always make me think of Donnie Darko too! I know they are supposed to be nice but they creep me out. I was getting a bit worried about his relationship with Natalya but I'm glad she has sorted that out.

They are really creepy, especially when they start flirting with your sims. Poor Erik just wants to flirt with a sim that isn't Ruby. I kinda feel bad for the guy even if I don't agree with his way of life.
